Mr. Elijah Blackwell of Settlement Road, entered into rest on Friday, October 31, 2008 at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 8 at New Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev. Matthew Harden officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Blackwell was a native of Lincoln County and a member of New Tabernacle Baptist Church. He lived in Martinez, Ga. for many years and was the owner of Blackwell Flooring Company.

Survivors include his daughters, Patricia A. Davis, Glenda Blackwell, Gloria J. Blackwell and Sherri L. Blackwell; one sister, Elizabeth (Moss) Elam; one step-son, Marty Beard; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Norris W. Gunby, Sr. Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
