HERBERT B. "BENNY" WILLIAMS HERBERT B. "BENNY" WILLIAMS Mr. Herbert B. "Benny" Williams, 55, of Ralph Goolsby Road entered into rest Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Doctors Hospital, Augusta, Ga.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 30 at Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church with Revs. James James, Paul C. Reviere, and Larry Chkoreff officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites accorded.

Mr. Williams was born on February 13, 1953 in Eastman, Ga. but lived in Virginia most of his life. He retired from the Craney Island Fire Dept. in Portsmouth, Va., then moved from Elizabeth City, Va. to Lincoln County, where he spent the past 10 years. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chesapeake, Va., and had served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. Mr. Williams was a member of numerous organizations including: Wakefield, Va. Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Portsmouth, and Khevide Shrine Temple, Chesapeake, Va.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jack Ed Myers.

Survivors include his father, Herbert Benjamin Williams and wife, Nancy of Church Road, Va.; his mother, Dora Elizabeth "Liz" Myers, Lincolnton, Ga.; a son, Clifton Benjamin Williams and fiancée, Amy of Lincolnton, Ga.; a daughter, Amber Dawn Holloman and husband, Bert of Chesapeake, Va.; a brother, Michael Williams of Virginia Beach, Va.; and a grandchild, Colton Roman Holloman of Chesapeake, Va.
