Hinesley disposes of two cases during criminal trail week
Two cases were disposed of during criminal trial week, held at the Lincoln County Courthouse.
Judge Harold A. Hinesley presided over the special session of superior court.
During the proceedings, Harvey Olin Hamlet, Jr. pleaded guilty to two counts of reckless conduct and received 12 months probation and a $500 fine plus surcharges on each count. The sentences will run consecutively.
In addition, Justin Aaron Bentley pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana (misdemeanor) and received 12 months probation, a $500 fine plus surcharges, 25 hours community service, and the drug package.
The drug package is a special condition of probation which provides for drug treatment and counseling as well as random testing. It also requires the defendant to submit to searches of his person and/or property upon request.
Bentley was further ordered to complete his GED.
