Ground breaking ceremony held for new medical center

Self Regional Healthcare of Greenwood broke ground for the new Savannah Lakes Medical Center last Tuesday. Located at 207 Holiday Road, the 7,400 square foot center will allow for the expansion of both primary care and specialty services at the site. Participating in the groundbreaking for the new $3 million complex were, from left: Hazel Hughes, Chairman of the Self Regional Board of Trustees; Dr. Todd Gonzales of Savannah Lakes Medical Center; Jim Pfeiffer, President and CEO of Self Regional; Charles Jennings, Chairman of McCormick County Council; Roy Smith, Mayor of McCormick; and David Twiggs of the Savannah Lakes Property Owners Association. Contractor will be John W. Spratlin & Sons Commercial Construction of Lincolnton. Construction is expected to be completed late next year.
