Sportsman's Festival in Warrenton Nov. 8

Please, join us November 8, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., in downtown Warrenton, Ga. for our 15th Annual Sportsman's Festival. It is gearing up to be bigger than last year and fun for the entire family!

Come meet J Todd Tucker, Professional Angler and Hunting Guide, who will be onsite, near the Welcome Booth, all day long. He'll be entertaining the audience with fishing and hunting stories, educating the audience with demonstrations from his boat and with his dog, and answering questions about hunting and fishing. J Todd will also be available for autographs and photos.

The Car Cruise-In will fill Courthouse Square during the entire festival, and door prizes will be given away to participants there. To reserve a spot for your classic car, please call Andrew Coard at 706-465-2198.

Music will sound from the Depot stage, and the Welcome Booth will be set up near the Depot. At the booth, raffle tickets and t-shirts will be on sale. This year's gun, donated by the Warren Co. Chamber of Commerce and on display at Wheeler's True Value Hardware, is a Remington 700 SPS, Buckmaster, 270 Caliber. Tick- ets may be purchased for $1 each or six for $5 at Wheeler's, Miss Jane's, the chamber office or from Chamber/ BHT board members. The winner of the gun must be 18 years old or older, but does not have to be present to win when the raffle is drawn at 2:00 p.m. The 50/50 raffle tickets may also be purchased for $1 each at the above locations. The winner of the 50/50 raffle must be present at the festival at 2:00 p.m. to win.

Pittman Deer Processing, Sharon, Ga., will be giving away two $50 value coupons for their services to a lucky winner drawn from the 50/50 raffle tickets. T-shirts with a new design by IT Sportswear will be on sale for $10 and $15.

Commercial vendors will be set up along South Norwood Street. If you are interested in renting a booth space, please call 706.465.9604 or visit us online at www.warrencountyga.com and download or print an application. We are especially seeking hunting and/or fishing vendors, but other vendors will be considered.

Food vendors will be set up on Edward Ricketson, Jr Street, and the Kid's Carnival will be set up in City Park. WTHO's Steve Ferguson will be broadcasting live from the festival from 8-10 a.m. as the vendors set up, and the festival gets underway. We are seeking live entertainers to perform on the Depot stage throughout the festival day. Please, call 706- 465-9604 to reserve a time slot for your choir, band or other brand of entertainment.

The Turkey Shoot and Big Buck Contest will take place at The Country Club on East Warrenton Road at 2:30 p.m. Sponsored by Old Anderson Plantation on Saturday, November 8, 2008. Bring your buck to The Country Club on East Warrenton Road to be scored. Call George Langford at 706-840-3174 for details. Prize will be awarded to the deer that scores the highest. Turkey Shoot for all ages starting at 2:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded on each shoot.

A free Health Fair will be held in City Hall from 9 a.m. until noon. Tri- County Family Medical Center and Heritage Health Care of Wilkes will be sponsoring this free event. Along with blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar checks, there will be free informational packets available. Please, plan to attend while you are at the festival.
