Tickets available for Soup Cook Off at the MACK
Tickets are now available for the November 2nd Soup Cook Off for the MACK which will be held at the Lutheran Church by the Lake fellowship hall from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Prizes will be given for the best broth soup and the best cream soup.
For only $7.00 you can taste over thirty soups. Everyone who tastes the soups will get to vote for their favorite in each category. Your votes will determine the winners so we need all of you hungry soup lovers to come and judge the entries. Mark your calendars and plan to come enjoy sampling of soups, vote for the winners and enjoy the fellowship while supporting the MACK.
Tickets may be purchased at the MACK or from a current MACK board member. If you don't know who the board members are, you can look them up on the website at www.the-mack.org or call the MACK at 864-852-3216.
The October Read and Feed is a sell out. The book to be discussing is Kill the Messenger by Ken H. Fortenberry. The MACK Staff will host this event on Thursday, October 30 at 6:00 p.m. Next month's read and feed book will be announced in next week's paper so watch for it!
The TV clip from 60 minutes about Kill the Messenger will be shown at 12:00 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. at the McCormick Library on October 30th. If you are coming to the Read and Feed, you may want to view this before the discussion. If you aren't coming to the read and feed and are interested in seeing the clip, stop by the McCormick Library at one of the above times.
