Homecoming at New Hope

Rafting on the Nantahala River
     The grandchildren of Tommy and Lou Lee hold a copy of The Lincoln Journal after putting on dry clothes from white water rafting on the Nantahala River in Bryson City, Tennessee on October 12, 2008. The occasion was James McAvoy's 16th birthday. Pictured are Sydney and Synclaire Thornton and James, Paige and Erin McAvoy. Also enjoying the rapids were the Lees and the childrens' parents— Courtney Thornton and Kerry and Leslie McAvoy. Synclaire's reaction to the rafting trip was, "If ya'll do this again, don't bring me!"

Seagraves celebrates first birthday with party at home Sept. 20
      Brooklyn Riley Seagraves, daughter of Jason and Tara Seagraves, celebrated her first birthday with a party at her home on September 20, 2008. The backyard was decorated with pink and yellow tablecloths and balloons. Brooklyn's three tier Fairy Princess cake was the focal point of the decorations.

LHS Class of 1948 holds 60th reunion
      The Lincolnton Class of 1948 gathered at The Groves-May House in the Lincoln County Historical Park on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. for the celebration of their 60th class reunion. Thirty-six seniors graduated from Lincolnton High School on May 24, 1948, fourteen boys and twenty-two girls.

Bentley, McWhorter celebrate birthdays
      Tucker Bentley and Thomas McWhorter celebrated their first birthday at Barbara's Family Childcare with a Bugs Life party. All the children had cupcakes with a frog on top of them and a Bugs Life birthday hat along with a big punching ball balloon. For snacks they enjoyed the cupcakes, fruit salad, cheetoes, and fruit punch.
