Homecoming Week is in full swing at LCHS and LCHS.

This year, the LCHS Student Council is sponsoring a variety of activities to help students get into the spirit of the week.

One of these activities is the everpopular "Dress Days." They are as follows:

.. Monday - - "College T-Shirt Day:" Students wear the colors of their favorite college.

.. Tuesday - - "Wacky, Tacky Day."

.. Wednesday - - "Class T-Shirt Day:" Members of each class wear a specific color to show their class spirit. The colors are: seniors, yellow; juniors, purple; sophomores, green; and freshmen, blue.

.. Thursday - - "Guess Who Day:" Students dress up as their favorite person.

.. Friday - - "Red Devil Spirit Day:" Students sport their best red and white finery.

The week-long celebration will likewise feature a Banner Contest.

The overall Spirit Week winners will be selected on the basis of class participation in Dress Days and the Banner Contest. The winners are scheduled to be announced at the Lincoln County-Hancock Central High School game tonight (Thursday) at Buddy Bufford Field. Game time is 7 p.m.

The game was rescheduled from Friday to Thursday due to thunderstorms in the forecast for Friday and Saturday.

Formal homecoming festivities are set to take place at halftime. The 2008 Homecoming Court will be presented at this time, and the Homecoming Queen and Princess will be crowned by Madison Saggus, last year's Homecoming Princess. Kitty Ball, the 2007 Homecoming Queen, will not be in attendance because she is serving our country as a student at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
