TO THE EDITOR

I'm an NFL. I've been here for the past 15 years, my husband for over 5 years. And for the amount of taxes that my husband and I have paid to this county, I think I have the right to voice my opinion.

I've always thought that Lincoln County would be the perfect place to live. There are so many wonderful people here. When I first moved here, all of the people I met were just as friendly as if I'd been here my whole life. And they are still that friendly.

But I feel there is something terribly wrong in our county government. The more I learn the more disappointed I become. It's not because of the things that just recently have been circulating around the county, it's things that I've learned over the years.

It was reported that six county roads had been striped, Maxim Road being one of them. They failed to mention that they stopped painting the stripes a quarter of a mile from the end of the road. There's probably at least 12 homes on that stretch of the road that pay thousands of dollars each and every year in property taxes. So I'll ask, what are our tax dollars paying for? Did they run out of paint?

I know I have a lot of questions and I'm sure they'll never be answered.

So in closing, I just wanted to say please, good citizens of Lincoln County, before you vote pray about your decision. Pray that it will be the right one. I know I will.
