The American Cancer Society and McDuffie County Regional Medical Center have partnered to offer "Look Good….Feel Better" sessions, a free, hands-on group workshop dedicated to helping female cancer patients cope with and combat the appearance-related side effects of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Volunteer cosmetologists lead the program that includes a 12-step skin care and makeup program as well as demonstrations on hair/wig techniques to help restore a positive self-image. Each participant receives a free gift kit of full size name-brand cosmetics for use during and after the workshop. Kay Kendrick, a cosmetologist from McDuffie County, will teach the classes held at the hospital.

Look Good…Feel Better will be offered quarterly in McDuffie County. The next class is scheduled for November 3, 2008 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at McDuffie County Regional Medical Center. These classes are available for residents in Warren, McDuffie, Lincoln, and Wilkes Counties. To RSVP please contact Debbie Jones at 706-597-5404.
