Mr. and Mrs. Harold Echols celebrate 50th anniversary
MR. AND MRS. HAROLD ECHOLS Mr. and Mrs. Harold Echols were honored with a celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary on Sunday afternoon, October 5, at the Bank of LaFayette, Community Center, Chairman's Ballroom in LaFayette, Georgia.
The happy occasion was hosted by their children, Mr. and Mrs. Rick Dean of Dalton, Georgia, Mr. and Mrs. Suttle Hunt of Rocky Face, Georgia, and Mr. and Mrs. Randy Echols of Ringgold, Georgia. Also attending were their grandchildren, Mr. Josh Hunt of Kennesaw, Georgia, Miss Kalee Dean of Dalton, Georgia and Mr. and Mrs. Blake Kendall of Ringgold, Georgia.
Mr. Echols, originally from Tignall, Georgia and Mrs. Echols, the former Hilda Banks of Lincolnton were married on October 4, 1958.
Before the reception, Mr. and Mrs. Echols renewed their wedding vows before their family and friends at Woodstation United Methodist Church in Ringgold, Georgia. Mrs. Echols wore a two-piece royal blue ensemble. She was given a corsage of white rose buds adorned with gold ribbon. Mr. Echols was presented a matching boutonniére for the lapel of his gray jacket.
The guest register table was decorated with a bud vase containing yellow lilies and greenery and gold frames containing a high school prom picture and a recent picture of the couple. The food and beverage tables were covered with white cloths and a beautiful floral arrangement of yellow lilies.
Guests enjoyed many types of finger foods including chicken salad, little smokies in barbecue sauce, cheese balls, crackers, vegetable trays with dip, cheese trays, nuts, mints and cookies.
Frozen pineapple punch was served in crystal punch bowls. The anniversary cake, a two-tiered butter cream confection, was decorated with a beautiful floral arrangement.
Tables around the room were covered with white and were decorated with bud vases of yellow lilies and greenery. A full wall video played throughout the reception honoring the 50 years of Mr. and Mrs. Echols and their children and grandchildren. An additional table held numerous photos from the early years to present years of Mr. and Mrs. Echols.
Around a hundred guests attended the celebration. Many were local friends and many were friends and family from the Lincolnton, Thomson, Washington and Martinez area.
