The Humane Society of McCormick County is gearing up for their annual charity dinner auction to be held Saturday November 8th at the Savannah Lakes Village Activity Center.

The event kicks off at 4 p.m. with a silent auction followed by a floor auction at 7 p.m. and offers great deals on an impressive array of items including trips, art, jewelry, sporting goods, electronics and much more. The $30 ticket includes a full dinner served at 5:30 p.m. featuring family style salad with ranch or balsamic vinaigrette dressing, Panini bread and butter, chicken Marsala, herb crusted pork loin with brown sauce, wild rice, au gratin potatoes, peas and carrots, ice tea, coffee and dessert. In addition, a cash bar will be available.

A bake sale will offer some wonderful home cooked items and a "buy it now" feature will shake things up during the silent auction. Guests are encouraged to come early to take advantage of this popular format.

The HSMC receives no town, county or state funding and depends largely on this event in order to continue its many programs including a free or low cost spay/neuter program for county residents. In addition, the group hopes to break ground early next year on a recently acquired 53 acre parcel of land. Long range plans include a shelter and clinic as well as partnering with local colleges and universities to offer educational programs and rewarding career paths for those with a love of animals.

Tickets are limited and are available by phoning Sandy Pugh at 864- 391-3079. For those unable to attend, donations to the HSMC are welcomed and greatly appreciated.
