Mr. and Mrs. Marcus L. Matthews are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Mary Claire, born Friday, June 20, 2008, 3:15 p.m. at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. She weighed seven pounds, ten ounces and was twenty-one inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Mrs. Mary Rose Stein of Lincolnton and the late Jerry L. Stein.

Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. W. Randall Matthews of Lincolnton.
