Janet Dawkins was honored with a birthday luncheon on August 29, 2008 at the home of Debbie Rankin. Hostesses for the occasion were Melony Dawkins, Nancy Dawkins, Sherri Reed and Debbie Rankin.

The guests arrived at noon and enjoyed cheese straws and lemonade as they visited.

After chatting and visiting for a while, the ladies were invited to the dining room. The table was set and centered with the birthday cake iced in turquoise. Janet's monogram was inscribed on top of the cake in white. Each end of the table held a vase of turquoise, purple and green flowers that carried out the color scheme of the cake, napkins and place settings.

The hostesses had prepared a variety of salads and a ribbon pimento cheese sandwich for the guests. After the meal, birthday cake was served with coffee as the ladies shared pictures and memories of times past.
