Mr. Gordon R. Stone, 57, of Edison, New Jersey, entered into rest on Friday, August 15, 2008 at JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Lincolnton City Cemetery with Rev. Russell Davis officiating.

Gordon was born in Charleston, West Virginia and lived in Georgia before moving to Edison ten years ago. He was a master carpenter and excellent cook. He enjoyed cooking and prized his chili recipe. He won second place at the Keyport, New Jersey Chili Contest. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, especially #88.

Gordon was preceded in death by his father, Gordon I. Stone.

Survivors include his companion, Judith Triola of New Jersey; his mother, Viola Stone of Lincolnton; sister, Sue Ellen Boardman, of Lincolnton; children, Cheryl Sadlowski of New Jersey, Jeremy Stone of Louisiana, Steven R. Stone of South Carolina, Michelle Stone of Arkansas; and four grandchildren.
