LEOLA JONES MERCIER Mrs. Leola Jones Mercier of Anthony Street, entered into rest on Saturday, September 20, 2008, at her residence.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24 at Rehoboth Baptist Church with Rev. Jesse W. Johnson officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Mercier was a native of Columbia County and a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church. She lived in Lincoln County for many years.

Survivors include three sons, Ollie (Lizzie) Mercier, Marvin (Dorothy) Mercier and Burch (Bobbie) Mercier, all of Lincolnton; three daughters, Lizzie White of Washington, Ga., Ruth Rouse and Annette Tutt of Lincolnton; one sister, Lillie Hills of Augusta, Ga.; twenty-seven grandchildren; seventy great-grandchildren; thirty-one great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Norris W. Gunby, Sr. Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
