Speech and debate team have outstanding performance at WRHS

The Lincoln County High School speech and debate team are to be congratulated for an outstanding performance at the Warner Robins High School Forensics Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

LCHS won eleven awards, including the top two spots in both duo interpretation and prose/poetry and a top speaker award in student congress: Danielle Donnelly/Donquita Williams - first place, Duo Interpretation; Meg Ball - first place, Prose/Poetry; Amanda Broom - first speaker, Saturday afternoon session of student congress; Amanda Broom/Kayla Lyons - second place, Duo Interpretation; Donquita Williams - second place, Duo Interpretation; Amanda Broom - third place, Dramatic Interpretation; Amanda Scott - third place, Humorous Interpretation; Andrew McQuigg/Tiffany Shirley - fourth place, Duo Interpretation; Elizabeth Aaron - fourth place, Humorous Interpretation; DeVante Starks - fourth place, Prose/Poetry; Andrew McQuigg - Saturday afternoon session student congress presiding officer.

Others competing for LCHS were Elizabeth Aaron and DeVante Starks in impromptu speaking; Danielle Donnelly, Andrew McQuigg, and Burshaunda Wade in prose/poetry; Meg Ball/Amanda Scott and Carrie McCauley/Kentrell Norman in duo interpretation; Tiffany Shirley in dramatic interpretation; Kristen Freeman/ Connor Hamm in novice policy debate; and Jennifer Dandron/Kyrstie Scales in junior varsity policy debate.

Meg Ball has been ranked first in all nine rounds of prose/poetry in which she has competed so far this year, which is an amazing accomplishment.

To date, the LCHS speech and debate team has won fifteen awards this year.
