Board of elections meetings

The regular meetings of the Lincoln County Board of Elections and Voter Registration will be held the fourth Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at the Board of Elections, The Lincoln Center, 160 May Ave., Lincolnton, Ga. Any changes to the scheduled dates or alternate dates for meetings occurring on holidays will be posted.

Dinner served

Dinner served at American Legion Post 194 every Wed. night at 6:30 p.m. and Fri. at 7 p.m. Wednesday's menu changes weekly. Every Friday is steak night. A large variety salad bar, shrimp cocktail, baked potato, bread, dessert and ice tea are included with steak. Come out and join us for a delicious meal.

Donations welcomed

The Lincoln County Food Pantry welcomes contributions. Your donations are tax deductible. You may mail your contributions to: The Lincoln County Food Pantry, P.O. Box 473, Lincolnton, GA 30817. Thank you for your support.

Miss LCHS pageant

The Miss LCHS pageant will be Dec. 4 in the LCHS Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Brad Means will be the Emcee. The $40 entry fee and form deadline is noon, Nov. 20. Hogan reunion

Youth convention

The Youth Convention of the 10th District will convene at Union Spring Baptist Church in Warrenton on Oct. 4. Rev. G.L. Avery is pastor.

Homecoming at St. Paul

St. Paul United Methodist Church is celebrating 110 years of ministry. You are cordially invited to join us for our Homecoming Celebration on Sun., Sept. 28. Womens conference

Solomon Pool Deliverance Ministries will have its Third Annual Womens Conference Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. with Bishop Mattie Robinson, pastor of One In Christ of Augusta, Ga. and at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tonita Cody of Parks Grove FBH Church in Lincolnton.

Class of 72 to meet

The Lincoln County Training School/ West Side High School class of 1972 will be having a fellowship meal/gathering at The Piccadilli Restaurant on Washington Road in Augusta Georgia on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 6:00 PM. Bingo is Friday

It's time to begin making your appointments for Christmas Kids & Greetings. Interpress Studios will be taking photos for three days only, Oct. 21, 22, & 23 at the Lincolnton Clubhouse. Call 706-359-3229 to schedule your appointment today!

Assessors meetings

The Lincoln County Board of Tax Assessors will hold its meeting at 4 p.m., in the Tax Assessor's office at 182 Humphrey St. Upcoming monthly meeting dates include: October 21, November 18, December 16.

Support group meeting

Is Tourette's Syndrome more than you can handle? Are you tired and alone? Mothers, fathers, and grandparents of children with Tourette's Syndrome are invited to attend support group meetings at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 13, Oct. 11, and Nov. 8 at the Vineyard Church of Augusta, 3126 Parrish Road, Augusta Ga. Bailey to speak at luncheon Oct. 8

The Savannah River Christian Women's Connection Luncheon will be held on Wed., Oct. 8, at Tar Country Club from 12:30 - 2 p.m. The cost of the luncheon is $13.

Carol Bailey of McCormick will share her love of quilting as she walks among old and new quilts on display. She will give a brief history and symbolism of the Log Cabin Quilt while she also unfolds the patchwork quilt of her own life's faith journey.

Women's retreat

Pastor celebration

Faith Tabernacle Church will have its pastor celebration for Pastor Delcinia M. Jamison Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. A pre-celebration will be held Oct. 8 - 9 at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to help them celebrate this joyous occasion.

Musical program

The Tennant family will have the annual music program at Solomon Pool Deliverance Ministries Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. There will be a different group singer. The public is invited to attend. Rev. Peggy W. Zellars is pastor.

Revival at Salem

Salem Baptist Church will hold revival services Sept. 28 - Oct. 1 with Rev. Fred Collins. Sunday morning services will begin at 11 a.m., evening services at 7 p.m. nightly. A nursery will be provided. Everyone is invited.

SALS to meet

Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 194, will have its meeting Oct. 14, 7:30 p.m., at the post home. All members are asked to please attend this very important meeting.

Hurley to speak

Rev. Joseph Hurley, of Washington, will be the guest speaker at True Fellowship Church on Oct. 12 at 3:30 p.m. The community is invited. Bishop James Ware is pastor.

Planning meetings

The Lincoln County Planning Commission will hold all its regularly scheduled meetings in the Planning and Zoning Conference Room located at 107 Perryman Avenue unless otherwise advertised. The meeting dates are:; Oct. 6; Nov. 10; Dec. 8.

Power wheelchairs

The Senior Wheels USA Program makes available power wheelchairs to senior citizens and the permanently disabled at no cost to the recipient, if they qualify.

The power wheelchairs are provided to those who can no longer walk safely, nor self-propel a manual wheelchair, and who meet the additional guidelines of the program.

Friends Day

Friend's Day will be held at Martin Crossroad Church Sun., Oct. 5. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m. with church services at 11 a.m. Lunch will immediately follow. Bring your family and friends and join us for great fellowship.

Motivational day

Motivational Day will be held at Newberry Missionary Baptist Church Sun., Sept. 28 at 9:15 a.m. The Jennie L. Garnett Scholarship will be presented to recipients for 2008. In addition, Promotion Sunday will be held during the regular Sunday School hour, 8 a.m. Rev. Willie J. White is pastor.

Fund set up

A fund has been established at Farmers State Bank to aid the Beggs family.

The funds collected will help defray medical expenses associated with the cancer treatment and meet the needs of the Beggs family.

Contributions to the Beggs Fund may be made at the bank during regular business hours or by using the night depository. Donations may also be mailed to the bank at P.O. Box 99, Lincolnton, Georgia, 30817. Please remember to write " Lyndsie Beggs Fund" on the envelope.

Tuesday prayer True Fellowship invites everyone to prayer each Tuesday 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Bishop James Ware is pastor.

Benefit barbecue

New Work Baptist Church Brotherhood's third annual benefit barbecue will be held Sat., Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Plates will cost $8 each and consist of barbecue, hash and rice, slaw, baked beans, bread, tea and pound cake and may be picked up at New Work Baptist Church.

Proceeds will benefit the community through Brotherhood projects.

Prayer breakfast

Cluster Four of the 10th District will hold a prayer breakfast at Third Shiloh Association Building on Sat., Sept. 27 at 9 .m. Rev. G.L. Avery is pastor.

Financial workshop

Solomon Pool Deliverance Ministries will have a financial workshop Oct. 24, beginning at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 25 beginning at 6 p.m. with guest minister Fred Prophet of Augusta. The public is invited to attend. Rev. Peggy W. Zellars is pastor.

Secret Santa

With Christmas right around the corner, Huddle House is gearing up for another successful year of Secret Santa. You may begin dropping off your toys for children early this year. For every new, unwrapped toy valued at $25 or more, the child will also receive a free meal.

Prog. at Newberry

Newberry Missionary Baptist Church's Annual Men and Women Day will be held Sun., Oct. 19 during regular worship services (11:15 a.m.). Rev. Willie J. White is pastor.

Mission day

The Annual Tenth District Mission Day will be held at Harmony Baptist Church, 928 Hopkins St., Augusta, Sat., Oct. 25 at 2:30 p.m. The public is invited. Rev. Woodrow Miller is pastor.

Pioneer Day Nov. 22

Pioneer Day at the Historical Park is November 22. Ready for a hot apple fritter and a cup of coffee? It's that time again, well almost.

Pioneer Day 2008 planning has begun. Last year 3,000 people came to Lincolnton for a day of good clean family fun and this year it is going to be even bigger. Space is limited for vendors. Do you have historical skill or craft that you'd like to share? Chair caning, soap making, basket weaving, bee keeping, pottery, corn shuck dolls or the like? This year The Historical Society is going to showcase some of Lincoln County's best kept secrets in these areas.

Stay tuned to The Lincoln Journal for details. And of course, there will be free cotton candy for children of all ages.

Board anniversary

First Baptist Church Deacons and Deaconess Board will celebrate its anniversary Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. A very spiritual program has been planned and the public is invited. Rev. Dennis Quinn is pastor.

Solomon Pool Deliverance Ministries will have a pew rally service Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. with guest speaker Pastor Melvin Searles of McCormick. The public is invited. Rev. Peggy W. Zellars is pastor.

Headquarters open

The Republican Headquarters (old Badcock building) will be open to the citizens of Lincoln County from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Thursdays and 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Saturdays.

Executive meeting

The Lincoln County Food Pantry Executive Committee will meet at the Lincoln County Public Library Thurs., Oct. 16 at 1 p.m.

Revival Sept. 24-26

Revival will be held at Parks Grove Holiness Church Sept. 24 - 26 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Guest speaker will be Pastor Bennings of Greenville, S.C. Come help us lift up the name of Jesus. Rev. Cody is pastor.
