Harriett Q. Peters and Darrell Michael Barden were united in marriage at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2008 in the gardens of Wisteria Hall in Washington, Georgia. Rev. Greg Porterfield of Wesley United Methodist Church officiated. A reception immediately followed.

The bride is the daughter of Elizabeth Smith and the late Irvin N. Smith of North Augusta, S.C. She is employed by Eye Physicians & Surgeons of Augusta.

The groom is the son of Hazel Joanne Barden and the late Colvin W. Barden of Lincolnton. He is owner of Barden Land Clearing in Lincolnton.

The couple honeymooned at Wisteria Hall Bed and Breakfast in Washington and Nashville, Tennessee after attending an ABC Auction in Crawfordville, Georgia.

The couple will reside in Lincolnton.
