Mrs. Mabel Callaway Workman, 92, of Thomson, Ga., entered into rest Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at Thomson Manor.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 30 in Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Allen Danner officiating.

Mrs. Workman was a native of Wilkes County and the daughter of the late John Callaway and Bert McAvoy Callaway. She was the widow of Henry Thomas Rice, Jr. and Tim Workman. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Phillips Mill Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Henrietta Lunceford of Washington and Martha Flanagan of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Judy Cunningham and Mike Lunceford; two great grandchildren, Jourdan Beth Cunningham and Anna Rose Cunningham; and a number of step-children.

Hopkins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
