Online edition goes pay-per-view
      Rising website design and hosting costs have forced The Lincoln Journal to go to a paid subscription module for its online edition, effective October 1. Those logging onto the website can still access all of the story headlines and the ads in their entirety; however, the full details contained in the stories will be available only through paid subscriptions.

TIP DIE-BACK
      Tip die-back of redbud (Cercis canadensis) may be caused by saturated soil, say experts with the University of Georgia Extension Service. Redbuds are very intolerant of "wet feet" caused by prolonged wet soil and high humidity.

State Troopers report
      State Troopers from the Washington Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated one traffic crash during the month of August in Lincoln County. Sergeant First Class Andrews said the traffic crash resulted in two injuries. SFC Andrews said troopers from Post 17 also issued 38 traffic citations in the county during the month.
