Tyeshia Crew, a junior at Lincoln County High School, did volunteer service this summer from June 4 to August 1, at Doctor's Hospital in Augusta, Ga. She participated in The Student Connection which is a summer volunteer program at Doctor's for youth ages 14 - 17.

The Student Connection program was devised to get youth interested in healthcare and to allow them to give back to the community with their services. Tyeshia had opportunities to work at Doctor's Hospital in the Women's Center, Labor and Delivery, Wound Clinic, Information Desk, Public Relations, and Marketing.

Bart Grey, manager of Volunteer Services, stated that Doctor's Hos- pital is committed to an investment in the lives of the youth in our communities. The hospital believes in the youth and is proud of the opportunities it has to offer education and work ethics to them. All departments work together on common good: the welfare of the patients, their families and their guests.

Tyeshia stated she thoroughly enjoyed the summer volunteer program and is thankful to Doctor's Hospital for allowing her to participate in the program. She appreciates the rewarding experience that further supports her goal to be a nurse.

Tyeshia is the sixteen year old daughter of Kenneth Crew and Tammy Murray-Blackwell.
