The Charlie Norwood Scholarship Golf Tournament on Oct. 4 will now include a barbecue at the historical park. The scholarship will be awarded to a Lincoln County 2009 senior.

Last years winner was Kitty Ball who is now at West Point. The tournament format will be a four man scramble. It has been decided to purchase three camouflage deer trail cameras to provide surveillance for political signs. These are not expensive on eBay. The cost is under the limit allowed by the bylaws. These can be sold after the election. One of these has been an effective deterrent to vandalism at the chairman's dock. Pictures of any sign vandalism will be shared with the Democratic Party. Vandalism or theft of signs is not ethical.

The subject of pollwatchers is not resolved. State law is clear on this. The Board of Elections has supplied these guidelines and a decision must be made to meet these deadlines for certification before November.
