A "Back-to-School Give-Away" is being sponsored by Lincoln County Family Connection beginning Monday, August 4, and continuing through Thursday, August 7.

From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day, Lincoln County school children, accompanied by a parent or guardian, may visit the Family Connection office at 115 Main Street and receive a book bag filled with notebook paper, pencils, pens, rulers, and erasers.

The supplies will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

"Our goal is to help our students get off to a good start by providing them with the supplies necessary for a successful school year," said Nancy Blount, Family Connection coordinator. "Children cannot do well in school if they do not have the proper supplies.

"Also, with the economy like it is, we figured parents could use the extra help," she continued.

There is no income criteria to participate in the give-away program.
