      Christie Rachels and Robert Padgett were united in marriage at six o'clock in the evening on July 12, 2008 at the Westin Beachfront Resort in Hilton Head Island, S.C. The bride was given in marriage by her son, Cason Chalker.

Successful fishing trip
     Murray T. Norman took his grandchildren fishing in one of his farm ponds on the evening of July 8th. They had a very successful outing as they caught five large catfish and one snapping turtle. The catfish weighed thirty-five pounds. Pictured with their catch are grandchildren: Rebekah Thompson of Apopka, Florida, and Harrison Norman of Dalton, Georgia, along with great-grandson Parker Martin of Greenwood, South Carolina.

Art contest open for new cat license plate
      The Georgia Department of Agriculture invites Georgians to participate in its Dog and Cat License Plate art contest. As part of a funding initiative for the Dog and Cat Sterilization Program (DCSP), the contest will determine a design for a new license plate to benefit the program.       Alexander James Henderson Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Henderson announce the birth of their son, Alexander James, born Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois. He weighed six pounds, three ounces and was nineteen and one-half inches long.

     Bryan Jackson and Luke Matthews, vacationing with their parents in sunny Clearwater, Florida, look like seasoned beachcombers on Pier 60 as they proudly show off their hometown paper. The family also visited Seaworld in Orlando. The young men are the sons of David and Krystal Matthews.
