Local 4-H Club members enjoyed a variety of summer activites

Four-H'ers participated in the Kids in the Kitchen class taught by Martha Partridge as part of the 4-H summer activities proram Four-H'ers participated in the Kids in the Kitchen class taught by Martha Partridge as part of the 4-H summer activities proram Lincoln Co. 4-H Club held its summer activities program during the month of June.

Club members, 5th through 12th grade, had the opportunity to learn and experience different activities and events that made their summer exciting.

The month started with a trip to Splash 'N Boro water park where 4- H'ers had the chance cool off from the summer heat.

Four-Hers participated in the Kids in the Kitchen class on June 12, where they learned how to make a healthy pita pizza and a refreshing dessert taught by Mrs. Martha Partridge CEC Lincoln Co. Extension.

The following week on June 17th 4-H'ers were taught how to build a Bird House by Mr. Monte Stephens Lincoln Co. 4-H Agent and volunteer leader Mr. Charles Fuller.

The last two weeks of the month, 4-H'ers made their way to Augusta to visit the math and science centers at Fort Discovery, students then were treated to a trip to Six Flags, over Georgia. During the last week of summer activities 4-H'ers were taught how to build a CD clock by Mrs. Regina Norman Lincoln Co. 4- H Program Asst. followed by a trip to the movies.

Throughout the summer months 4- Hers built several raised bed gardens at the Lincoln Co. Extension Office. 4-H'ers planted and tended their vegetable garden where they were able to harvest various vegetables to given away. The raise bed vegetable garden project was sponsored by the Lincoln Co. Soil and Water Conservation.

Sincere thanks to all parties involved. The 4-H'ers that attended the summer activities had a good time and are looking forward to participating in all the 4-H activities during the upcoming school year.
