Kirkland selected as Firefighter First Responder of the Year

Perry Kirkland was selected by the Chapter Companions of the Augusta Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) as Outstanding Firefighter and First Responder of the Year for Lincoln County.
During his years with the Lincoln County Department of Public Safety, his knowledge of the fire service and the community is reassuring to the citizens of Lincoln County. He has exhibited outstanding leadership, initiative and concern for his fellow firefighters and his community.
Assistant Chief, Jim Moore Jr. EMT-P/FF, and other superior officers of the Lincoln County Department of Public Safety, have indicated that he has performed his duties in a superb manner and his continued service to the department is immeasurable.
His intelligence, congeniality, dedication and nobile service to his duties have been superior, during these years of serving your community. During his tenure as a firefighter and First Responder in Lincoln County, you displayed concern for the citizens of your community in the way he conducted his performance of duty, with courtesy and respect, and he has set a superb example for his superiors and subordinates alike.
His love of his job and the care and concert for the employees of the Lincoln County Department of Public Safety, is commendable and reflects great credit upon him, Lincoln County and the state of Georgia.
The Military Order of the World Wars is a patriotic non-profit, nonpartisan, veterans organization. The Order was established in 1919 to promote the welfare of our nation. Because it clearly is not a self-seeking organization, the Order is widely respected and listened to throughout all branches of government and across the country.
The Order provides an opportunity for officers of all uniformed services to unite in a strong program to promote national security, patriotism, good citizenship, and service to country.
The Order is comprised of 145 chapters across the nation. The role of the elected staff and national headquarters is to support individual chapters, which are the backbone of the Order. Chapter member should regular meetings to engage in a dialogue on issues of national importance, and to plan for the Order's outreach programs.
