Mad about permits
TO THE EDITOR:
This week I replaced the roof on a house that was given to me when I bought five acres of briar patch land.
I don't know if you people know that you will pay four times any time you have to do any improvements on anything you own.
Once for the material; once for the labor; once for the permits and once for the higher taxes.
Now I know that a lot of people don't pay any attention to this permit business and I did not plan to, but the contractor told me I would have to get one because he would get in trouble with code enforcers if he worked without one..
Now, I think the whole bunch are living high on the hog while we poor taxpayers have to work hard and die poor.
Believe me, we need a change. Think about it when you vote this fall.
