Fruits of her labor
Irene Stidom is enjoying the tropical life on Pineywood Road. The talented gardener has managed to cultivate a pineapple plant, which sports two pineapples, one all ready for the picking. "I like to experiment with plants," said Stidom, "so one day I put the top of a pineapple I had gotten from the store in the ground, and this is what happened." In addition to a beautiful flower garden, she also raises vegetables and is currently in the process of trying to grow a banana tree. More...
BOE votes to reinstate Social Security

Taking a break from the heat

The swimming pool at the Curry Colvin Recreation Complex provided welcome relief from the recent heat wave which had temperatures topping out in the triple digits - highly unusual for early June. A.H. Stephens State Park will be hosting its Annual Senior Fishing Rodeo on Saturday, June 21.
