Mr. James E. Scott, 86, of Chamberlain Ferry Rd. entered into rest on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Wills Memorial Hospital in Washington.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19 at Faith Temple of Lincolnton with Rev. Wade Palmer officiating. Interment followed at Lincolnton City Cemetery.

Mr. Scott was the son of James Thomas Scott and Susan Elizabeth Andrews Scott. He was a commercial fisherman and a farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois M. Scott.

Survivors include a daughter, Sarah S. Arthur and her husband, Edward, of Lincolnton; four sisters, Sara Langley and Mary Bowie of Abbeville, S.C., Nelda Fain of Tignall, Ga. and Ruby Hughes of Waterloo, S.C.; two grandsons, Jimmy Arthur and wife, Hilda and Eddie Arthur and wife, Patty all of Lincolnton; three great grandchildren, Tonya Harper and husband, John, Samantha Arthur and Dylan Arthur; four great great grandchildren, Scott, Niki, LeighAnna and William.

Serving as pallbearers were Danny Aycock, Chris Bufford, Josh Bufford, Perry Davis, Walter Palmer and Charles Scott.

Rees Funeral Home was in charge of services.
