Picking a president

2008-03-06 / News

In conjunction with this year's presidential election, the 6th and 7th grade enrichment students in Sandra Aycock's Language Arts classes nominated their favorite letter of the alphabet for president. Students used a thesaurus and a dictionary to build a word bank with challenging vocabulary words that begin with their favorite letter. Each student then wrote a short story explaining why their letter should be president. Pictured are (L-r): sixth grade winners Emmily Banks, second place, Ben Turner - first place; seventh grade winners: Deanne Hearst - second place and Brett Matthews - first place.
