Lincoln County dominates area steer show
The day couldn't have been much sweeter for Lincoln County! Justin Ashmore of Lincoln County exhibited the grand champion steer and C.J. City prepares to upgrade sewer lines for new school

County to rename portion of Hwy. 378 after Pop Lewis

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution urging the Georgia General Assembly to name a portion of Georgia Highway 378 the "James Roy 'Pop' Lewis Highway." The action was taken at a called meeting of the commission held Thursday, February 28, at the courthouse. More...

Police continue to investigate armed robbery

An armed robbery took place at around 11 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, at the Sunrise Minit Market. According to Lincolnton Police Chief Jim Justice, "Three black males, one brandishing a firearm, entered the business and demanded money from the store manager. Mountain makes top 20

Lincoln County's Graves Mountain is number 20 on Charles Seabrook's list of "35 Natural Wonders in Georgia You Must See Before You Die." Seabrook is a freelance columnist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Broun sponsors essay contest

Dr. Paul Broun has announced that he will sponsor an essay contest for students in the 10th Congressional District, which includes Lincoln County. Broun is asking students to write an essay of up to 250 words on one of the three virtues listed on the banner that wraps around the arch on the Georgia Seal that appears on the state flag. More...
