MR. AND MRS. THOMAS BENNETT Bennetts celebrate 50th wedding MR. AND MRS. THOMAS BENNETT Bennetts celebrate 50th wedding Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bennett, known to their friends as Carrie Lou and Little Green, were honored with a 50th wedding anniversary dinner at Savannah Lakes Activity Center on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at five o'clock in the afternoon.

Hosting the celebration were their five children, Curtis Bennett, Sherry Bennett, Les Bennett DeLoach (Lee), Ves Bennett Dunn (Larry), Nelson Bennett (Tammy), their twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Married January 18, 1958, the couple were born and raised in Lincoln County and have remained here all of their lives.

A serving table with a golden linen tablecloth held the three-tiered wedding cake surrounded by roses that were presented to the grandchildren during the evening. A lighted archway covered with white net and roses stood at the side of the room for taking photographs of the couple. A long table was placed upon a stage and decorated with golden linen table cloths and floral arrangements for seating of the couple and their grandchildren.

After a lovely dinner, family and friends enjoyed dancing and listening to music provided by Georgia Train Disco. All in attendance wished them many more happy years together.

Marriage Takes Three

I once thought marriage took just

two to make it go. But now I am convinced it takes the

Lord, also.

And not one marriage fails where

Christ is asked to enter. As lovers come together with Jesus

at the center.

But marriage seldom thrives and

home are incomplete until He is welcomed there, to help

avoid defeat. In homes where God is first, it's

obvious to see, these unions really work for

marriage still takes three.
