Our new year has started off great for the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. On January 9 we had our orientation meeting and met the 2008 Board of Directors. They are: president- Melissa Burgess, 1st vice - Al Danner, secretary - Becky Goldman, treasurer - Rita Hussey, Willie Murray, Jill McKinney, Matt Ivey, Judy Jordan, Ernie Doss, Joyce Crumbly, Stella Crosby, and Linda Burns.

President Burgess showed a very interesting slide presentation on the meaning of the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. Our mission statement: The Lincolnton- Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce is organized for the purpose of advancing commerce, tourism and civic interests in the Lincolnton- Lincoln County area. Our first meeting for the new year was held January 16 where we set up our committees and the chairman for each committee. Upcoming events were discussed for 2008.

Wow, the annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet was wonderful, food was good, speaker Fred Daitch was outstanding and he had the audience's attention. We, the board of directors for 2008, thanks the community for coming out and participating and showing your support as businesses and citizens of the community.

The chamber of commerce would like for any business that is not already a member to join, we are here for you and your business. We meet the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. You may call 706-359- 7970 for any information you will need.
