Mr. B. Nelson Brown, 63, of Donalds, S.C. entered into rest Monday, January 21, 2008 at Self Regional Medical Center in Greenwood, S.C.

A private service was held Thursday, January 24, with a graveside service following at 3 p.m. at Double Branches Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincoln County.

Mr. Brown, a native of Lincoln County, had lived in the Greenwood area most of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran and had been employed with Sen. Strom Thurmond's office as Social Security coordinator and had worked for U.S. Rep. Larry McDonald. Also, Mr. Brown earned a law degree from Jones School of Law, Birmingham.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Hester Haynes Brown, and sister, Angela Brown Phillips.

Survivors include a daughter, Kristen B. Johnson and husband, Ace of Joanna, S.C.; a brother, Jimmy Ray Brown of Martinez, Ga.; two sisters, Betty B. Holloway and Florence B. Dallis, both of Lincolnton; and four grandchildren, Eric, Whitney, and A.J. Salters, and Ace Johnson III.

Pallbearers were Dan Richardson, Tommy Drew, Bill Ashmore, Tracy Brown, Bill Clary, and Russell Reese.
