Walton Hardin

WALTON HARDIN
Walton Hardin of Washington, Ga., 86, entered into rest December 11, 2007.

A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 14, at Bethel Methodist Church with Revs. Fran Connell and Calvin Ward officiating.

He was the son of the late Lena Walton Hardin and the late Henry Grady Hardin of Wilkes County. He was a veteran who served in the Eighth Air Force in World War II and a patriot who proudly supported his country. He was awarded the distinguished flying cross in 1944. He was a graduate of Georgia Tech, the University of Georgia's School of Business, Stetson University Law School and Duke University Law School. He was a retired lawyer, a member of Bethel Methodist Church, the Washington Rotary Club, the State Bar of Georgia, the Toombs Circuit Bar Association, and the Wilkes County Cattlemen's Association. Survivors include his sons Walton (Chip) Hardin, Jr. and daughter-inlaw, Debbie and Ken Hardin and daughter-in-law, Claudia; his daugh- ter, Joni L. Hardin; along with several cousins including Garland Hendricks of Kinston, N.C., James Roy Smith, Jr., of Charleston, S.C. and Garland Darracott of Rayle, Ga.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Bethel Methodist Church in Washington.
