Mr. Oscar Blease Edmunds, 91, of McCormick, S.C., entered into rest Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Hospice Care of the Piedmont, Greenwood, S.C.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 7, at Buffalo Baptist Church with Revs. Ryan Ecklund and Charles Hopkins officiating. Interment followed in the Mc- Cormick City Cemetery.
Mr. Edmunds, son of the late Clyde and Ida Mae Bowick Edmunds, was born in Old Abbeville County, which is now McCormick County, and was a lifelong resident of McCormick. He was a retired building contractor, a member of the WOW, Troy lodge, and McCormick County Cattleman's Association. He had served on the McCormick County Board of Tax Assessors and he was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church where he had served as Treasurer, Chairman of Deacons, and Sunday School Superintendent for over 35 years.
Survivors include his wife, Cornelia Combs Edmunds; a daughter, Lynthia E. Brown and husband Coke of McCormick; one sister, Daisy E. Bowen of Greenwood; two brothers, James Z. Edmunds and Charlie Edmunds of McCormick; three grandchildren, Chris Brown of Greenwood, David and Jason Brown of McCormick; four great-grandchildren, Kailee, Holly, Ashley, and Ben Brown; and one great-great-grandchild, Chase Bonds.
Nephews served as pallbearers.
