Lewis Family hosts Christmas special

Air dates have been announced for the 53rd Annual Lewis Family Christmas Special, taped recently at Sconyers Barbecue in Augusta.

The program will be broadcast on WJBF-TV (Channel 6), with Brad Means and Jennie Montgomery, news anchors and reporters at Channel 6, serving as the emcees.

The Lewis Family hosted its own weekly television show on WJBF-TV for 38 years, from 1954 until 1992.

The Christmas program will be broadcast on Sunday, December 16, at 12 noon and on Sunday, December 23, at 1:30 p.m.

This year's program will feature "America's First Family of Bluegrass Gospel Music" performing such holiday favorites as "Winter Wonderland," "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem," "White Christmas," Frosty the Snowman," and "Santa Played the Autoharp for Us on Christmas Eve."

The Christmas special is being sponsored by Sconyers Barbecue and Lewis Lease Equipment Company.
