Mary Paradise Rogers

Mrs. Mary Paradise Rogers, 76, of Martinez, Ga. entered into rest Friday morning, November 16, 2007.

Graveside services were held Tuesday afternoon, November 20, at St. Paul United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lincolnton, Ga. with Pastor Dexter Lambert officiating.

She was the daughter of the late Dewitt and Bessie F. Paradise. Born in Wilkes County, Ga., she had been a lifelong resident of this area. She was of the Methodist faith and retired from Augusta College, Augusta, Ga., where she was an assistant to the Dean of Education. Prior to her health declining, she enjoyed gardening, growing roses and visiting the elderly or homebound in her neighborhood, carrying fresh flowers to them.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Moss of Martinez, Ga. and Carolyn Rogers-Byrd of Augusta, Ga.; a sister, Betsy Prince of Stephens, Ga.; grandchildren, James Moss, Jr., (Lesa Moss) Thomas Moss, and Montana Byrd; and a great-grandson, Camden Carter.

The family has asked that memorials in memory of Mrs. Rogers be made to the Columbia County Hu- mane Society Building Fund (CCHS) P.O. Box 204771, Martinez, GA 30907.

Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, S.C., was in charge of arrangements.
