Secret Santa no longer available to needy residents

Local residents should take note that the Secret Santa Program will not be offered in Lincoln County this year.

Although the Salvation Army in Augusta has already taken applications for assistance, a "make-day" is scheduled for Thursday, December 20, at the Augusta Exchange Club Fairgrounds, beginning at 9 a.m.

Applicants are asked to use the Hale Street entrance, which is near the Richmond County Jail, located at the intersection of Walton Way and Fourth Street.

To apply for assistance through the Salvation Army, individuals must present the following:

.. Photo IDs of all of the adults in the household.

.. Proof of birth for all family members.

.. Social Security cards for all family members.

.. Proof of income, including food stamps, and expenses for the household.

For more information about the toy program, contact the Salvation Army at 1-706-826-7933.
