Ball, Saggus crowned during LCHS homecoming festivities

Kitty Ball was crowned LCHS Homecoming Queen when the Red Devils met GMC at Buddy Bufford Field Friday, November 9.
She is the daughter of Penne Ball and the late Col. George Lawson Ball.
Madison Saggus, who is the daughter of Melody and Al Saggus, was crowned Homecoming Princess.
The two young ladies were crowned by Megan Saggus and Franquell Sherman, last year's Homecoming Queen and Princess, respectively. The queen's crown was a gift from Tena's Jewelry & Gift Shop in Washington.
Other members of the 2007 Home- coming Court presented during the special halftime show were:
Senior Class Representatives: Julie Bennett, daughter of Ivy Bennett and Wesley Bennett; Amy Boland, daughter of Angie and Bill Boland; Nicole Crook, daughter of Teresa and Andy Wengrow; Asonta Johnson, daughter of Patricia Jones and Gain Johnson; Mandy Pruitt, daughter of Jan Bodie and Fred Pruitt; and Sara Anne Remsen, daughter of Gail and Marcy Remsen.

Junior Class Representatives: Latoya Harris, daughter of Peggy and Ronald Harris, and Ashley Rivera, daughter of Betty and Rafael Rivera.

Prior to the game, senior band members and senior cheerleaders, football players, and softball players took part in the annual Senior Recognition Ceremony. At this time, certificates were presented to the seniors by their teachers and coaches.

Concerning other homecoming festivities, the overall "Spirit Week" winner was also announced at halftime. The winner was selected on the basis of class participation in "Dress Days" and the "Banner Contest," activities designed to help get students into the spirit of homecoming.
This year's overall Spirit Week winner was the Senior Class.
A breakdown of the Dress Days and Banner Contest winners is as follows:
Dress Days - Monday: "College/Pro T-Shirt Day," the Senior Class; Tuesday: "Wacky, Tacky Day," the Freshman Class; Wednesday: "Hero Day," the Freshman Class; Thursday: "Class Color Day," the Senior Class; and Fri- day: "Red Devil Spirit Day," the Senior Class.
Banner Contest - First Place: the Freshman Class, and Second Place: the Junior Class.
To top off the week, a Homecoming Dance was held in the school cafeteria following the game. During the course of the evening, Tony Wells was crowned Homecoming King, and Brandon Sparks, Homecoming Prince.
Spirit Week and the Homecoming Court were both sponsored by the LCHS Student Council.
In her comments, Dana Brennan, student council advisor, expressed her appreciation to all those who participated in the various homecoming activities and helped make the week a success. She extended a special thank-you to Tena's Jewelry & Gift Shop, Jason Crook, Jericho Florist, and Wrightway Innovations.
