Joan Norman recently named as Tenth District Deaconess Queen

JOAN NORMAN
Joan Norman of Lincolnton, was recently named Tenth District Deaconess Queen. At the first Deaconess Conference and Workshop held at the Historic Springfield Baptist Church in Augusta on October 5th and 6th, Joan was crowned the first Tenth District Deaconess Queen because of everyone's support, donations and efforts.

Other counties besides Lincoln vying for this title were, Burke, Jefferson, Hancock, Glascock, Warren, McDuffie, Richmond West, Richmond North and Richmond South. First runner up for queen was Hancock, County, second runner up was Richmond County North and third runner up was Burke County. Everyone's support brought the crown to Lincoln County.

"The effort to be crowned the Tenth District Deaconess Queen was indeed a great opportunity and inspiration for me," stated Mrs. Norman. "My thanks and gratitude go out to all the wonderful people that supported me in this effort." She would like to thank all the businesses, fam- ily, friends, her pastor, Rev. White and the Newberry Church family who took the time to go the extra mile. She would also like to thank the committee that crowned her queen which consisted of members from St. Luke, Ebenezer, New Tabernacle as well as Newberry. She is very thankful for all the personal donations, love offerings, the Fruit of the Spirit Breakfast that was held for her at New Tabernacle and the volunteer workers for this event, attendees and supporters.
