Norman-Taylor will be guest speaker at Veteran's Day prog.

MRS. SHIRLEY NORMAN-TAYLOR
Ebenezer Baptist Church, located off Elberton Highway on W.T. Mason Drive in Lincolnton, will have its Veteran's Day Program on Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 10:45 a.m.

The guest speaker for the occasion will be Mrs. Shirley A. Norman-Taylor. Mrs. Taylor is a former Lincoln County High School graduate. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Fort Valley State College in 1982 and a Masters of Public Administration degree from Iowa State University in 1984. She received the Juris Doctor Degree in 1998 from the University of Oklahoma College of Law where her activities included National Moot Court Team Semi-Finalist, coordinator of Adopt-a-School Tutoring Program, Irving Middle School, chair at University of Oklahoma Student Association Elections Commission and vice president Black Law Student Association.

Mrs. Norman-Taylor held several positions while in the United States Army from 1984 - 1993. One of which was the operations executive where she commanded the largest general supply company in the United States for the 18th Airborn, 101st Air Assault, 24th Mechanized Infantry and 10th Mountain. She also managed 400 personnel and was responsible for all supply needs of approximately 200,000 soldiers during Operation Desert Storm. During her tenure in the United States Army, her position as an investigation and training manager, she coordinated various training and assisted high level officers in making decisions on whether to court-martial members of the US Army for various offenses.

Her legal experience includes being a United States Department of Justice law clerk in Washington, DC in 1997; working in the Public Defenders Office, Juvenile Division in Oklahoma County, OK 1997-1998; an instructor, Para-Legal Institute, Fairfax, Va. 2000-2001; contract at- torney, Compliance Inc., Rosslyn, Va. 2001-2002. She is licensed in the state of Virginia and the District of Columbia. She currently has a solo practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Mrs. Shirley Norman-Taylor is the daughter of Mrs. Mae Lou Norman of Lincolnton. She is married to Mr. Clarence Taylor and they have one son, Cody.
