You should make it a priority to take care of your body. Getting regular dental checkups and eye exams, as well as keeping good hygiene, will help maintain your body's overall health and lower your risk for Type 2 diabetes.

Did you know that video games obsession can put you at the risk of type 2 diabetes? If you play video games at the expense of all exercise. By passing up the video games for a bike ride or a pick-up basketball game with friends, you just might lower your chances of developing Type 2 diabetes. And, it's never too late - you can always improve your level of fitness.

Diabetes has a genetic component, and a person is at greater risk of developing Type 2 diabetes if another close family member, such as a sibling or parent, has diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is also more common in certain racial and ethnic groups, such as African Americans, Hispanics, Native Americans and some Asian groups.
