Goldman, Asmore take top honors at livestock show

Lincoln County 4-H showmen participated in the 2007 Georgia-Carolina State Fair Livestock Show held in Augusta this past Saturday, November 3. Showmen representing Lincoln County were Justin Ashmore, Ivie Aycock, Carson Goldman, C.J. Goldman, Sadie Partridge and Amberly Wilkes. They all did an outstanding job.

C.J. Goldman's steer was selected Grand Champion and Justin Ashmore's steer was named Reserve Champion in the steer show. Other placings in the steer show were: Jr. Showmanship (grades fifth - eighth), first place - Sadie Partridge, second place - Ivie Aycock, fourth place - Carson Goldman; Senior Showmanship (grades ninth - twelfth), first place Justin Ashmore, fourth place - C.J. Goldman.

In Class 1 Steers was: first place - Sadie Partridge, second place - Ivie Aycock; in Class 3 Steers: first place - C.J. Goldman, second place - Carson Goldman; in Class 4 Steers: first place - Justin Ashmore, second place - Justin Ashmore, third place - Ivie Aycock.

Immediately following the steer show was the heifer show. There C.J. Goldman and Amberly Wilkes showed their Commercial and Simmental breed heifers. Amberly Wilkes received honorable mention in the Junior Showmanship (grades fifth - eighth). She also placed second in her class with her Commercial breed heifer.

JUSTIN ASHMORE
C.J. Goldman's heifer was named Reserved Champion in the Simmental Breed. He received honorable mention in the Senior Showmanship (grades ninth - twelfth).
