The Red Devils reaffirmedeveryone's trust last Friday night against the Warren County Screaming Devils. The game was played at Buddy Bufford Field with many people believing it would be the Red Devils' first loss of the season. It would also have been the first time the Red Devils lost to Warren County in a number of years. This wasn't the case, because Warren County, as early Hip-Hop star M.C. Hammer eloquently said in a song, "can't touch this." The Red Devils won this clash of the titans 14-7.
The tension could be felt in the stands as the teams' captains stepped onto the field for the coin toss. Warrenton won the toss, and play began. Both teams were plagued by short gains and hard hits in the first half. The first quarter ended with no points on the board. The second quarter also showed how strong the Red Devil defense can be, as there were no points on the board for Warren County at the end of the first half. However, the Screaming Devils wouldn't lie down and wait for the game to end. A low kick was knocked out of the air by a Warren County player who thought the team was called the Flying Devils.

The second half is when both teams' strength began to show. To quote Mohandas Gandhi: "Every worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory." The first half of the game was the beginning and the struggle, leaving just victory on the grocery list, and the Red Devils were in the store the second half. The Screaming Devils took control of the ball at the beginning of the second half. They returned the ball 28 yards to the 38-yard line after the kickoff. A nine-yard gain put Warrenton uncomfortably close to the 50. A careful run got the Warrenton team on the Red Devils' side of the field. After several more running plays, Warrenton's Kentrell Latimore scored the Screaming Devils' only touchdown. A nearly blocked extra point put Warren County in the lead, 0-7.

The Red Devils weren't going to take that for long, however, and prepared to come back for an unlikely victory against a skilled opponent. Josh Holliman returned the ball 10 yards to their own 45-yard line. Jamareon Green carried the ball 9 yards for a near first down on Warrenton's 46-yard line. He carried the ball again for a large gain. A.G. Middlebrooks carried a handoff to the 20-yard line for another first down. A short gain and a recovered fumble led to A.G. Middlebrooks carrying the ball into scoring range with 8 yards to go. Jamareon Green carried the ball 5 yards to the 3-yard line. He carried it for two more yards, making it frustratingly close to the goal line. Jafabian Green scored the touchdown, and a kick brought the score to 7-7.
The Screaming Devils tried to keep up, but couldn't match the Red Devils' pace. A.G. Middlebrooks scored the next and final touchdown less than three minutes into the fourth quarter. An extra point kick added insult to the injury. The Red Devil defense held and the game ended with a score of 14-7 with the Red Devils on top once again.
