Class of 98 to meet Lincoln County High School Class of 1998 will have a meeting on Sun., Nov. 4, 3 p.m. at Turner Realty to plan their reunion. Please attend to help with the planning. Anniversary observance The annual Sunday school anniversary observance will be held at Newberry Missionary Baptist Church on Sun., Nov. 4 at 10 a.m. Rev. Willie J. White is pastor. Holiday seminar A seminar on "Tending to Holiday Stress" will be held on Sat., Nov. 10 from 9 - 11:30 a.m. at the Dova Partridge Annex of the public library. There is no charge for this seminar. Participants will explore situations that intensify stress and/or depression during the holiday seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas, and consider things they can do to relieve stress and enhance the enjoyment of the holiday season. Leadership will be provided by Rev. Linda P. Jones. Driver Ed offered offered at Lincoln County High School. Those who are interested must contact the school guidance office or principal. You must have a learner's permit to be able to drive behind the wheel. Those who are eligible can be tested at the school site for their Class D or C license. Cost is $325 for the classes with an additional $55 for the driver's license test. Classes will consist of 30 class hours and six hours behind the wheel. Class dates will be announced later. Dramatic readings Join us downtown Warrenton on the Courthouse Square on Sat., Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and bring a lawn chair, pillow or your favorite stuffed animal to enjoy a good book.....being read to you dramatically by the ACT kids and adults. There will be three different age groups: children (inside the courthouse), tweens & teens (at the memorial), and adults (on the courthouse promenade). At the top of each hour, a different book of a different genre will be read. The reading schedule will be posted at the library, on the Chamber of Commerce window (it's there now!), and in The Clipper by Nov. 1. There is no cost to participate! There will be a large book collection box to collect donations toward the Early Read Program, and it will be located in front of the courthouse. Women's connection will hold country fair at Tara Nov. 14 Fall is the time for country fairs, homespun crafts, and good comfort foods. On November 14, at Tara Country Club, 12:30 - 2 p.m., The Savannah River Christian Women's Connection, in affiliation with Stonecroft Ministries, will feature its country fair fashioned around many homespun crafts, baked goods and our fall auction featuring an authentic, fast talking auctioneer. We will welcome Martha Cahoon, a multi-talented author and artist, and listen to her share how she saw her future only in shadows of grey until her life was restored and to its canvas the light of hope became visible once again. Our menu for our luncheon is good country fare - southern fried chicken, pulled pork, fried potatoes, baked beans, salad bar, and corn bread with butter. We top it warm homemade apple cobbler with whipped cream for dessert. A chef's salad can be substituted at time of reservations if you prefer.
