Two Hephzibah residents arrested on drug charges Two Hephzibah residents were arrested by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office on Thursday, October 18, after deputies received a report that a white female and a white male were visiting local drugstores asking about iodine and 96-count pseudoephedrine tablets. Iodine and pseudoephedrine are key ingredients in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. The subjects were stopped by Lt. Tony Grooms on Main Street, and it was discovered that there were outstanding warrants on Charles Bobby Grubbs, Jr., 41, in both Richmond and Burke counties. His wife, Tina Marcelle Grubbs, 39, was found to be in possession of several small bottles of iodine which had been allegedly stolen from City Pharmacy. Furthermore, a check of Mrs. Grubbs' person in a pat down at the Lincoln County Law Enforcement Center revealed a small amount of marijuana, methamphetamine, and what appeared to be a glass smoking device. Both subjects were charged with one count each of possession of substances with intent to manufacture a controlled substance. Mr. Grubbs faces additional charges of shoplifting, having no proof of insurance, and driving with a suspended or canceled license. He is currently being held in the law enforcement center on a $43,546 property bond. As for Mrs. Grubbs, she was also charged with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of drug-related objects, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana. She, too, remains in custody at the law enforcement center on a $70,000 property bond. |
