Chamber Chatter
Fall is in the air…Finally…we all have been looking forward to cooler weather and it sounds like it will be arriving just in time for wonderful fall activities. We all enjoy the football games, our own Red Devils, our favorite college teams and I even enjoy the NFLgames. There is nothing like a cool, crisp Friday night, cheering on your hometown team, watching the game and chatting with your friends. But that is just part of a great fall season.

So many of us enjoy other weekend activities….yard sales, shopping, craft fairs, fishing, fall carnivals and festivals, travel. Some of us even enjoy the inevitable yard work that comes with fall….. raking all those leaves and gathering pine straw.

And there is so much more our community has to offer. Make a habit of checking the Chamber Chatter in the paper each week. You'll find a variety of activities for the entire family to enjoy. Some are for fun, some are for education, and some promote community involvement. So take time to find something for you and your family to enjoy in Lincolnton, and in the process, make some great memories with your loved ones. Get involved with whatever you find interesting and invest some time, not only with your family but in your community as well.

Two great upcoming events with be Pioneer Day at the Historical Park on November 17 and the 10th Annual Holidays In Olde Lincoln Towne Festival and Holiday Parade on December 1. As part of the Holiday Festival, the chamber invites church choirs, vocal groups, soloists, dance groups, and actors to perform throughout the day on December 1 beginning at 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. We are asking that performances be 12 minutes or less providing exit and entering stage time. Christmas and Holiday music selections are encouraged to coincide with the festival event. Deadline to sign up is Monday, October 29, 2007 so that enough time is allotted for promotions and organizational needs. Applications can be picked up at the chamber office.
