Chief reports on departmental activities An activity report for the Lincolnton Police Department was issued recently by Chief Jim Justice. According to the chief, the following arrests were made in the city: .. Roy Tennant, 36, of Lincolnton, charged with possession of firearms by a convicted felon and theft by receiving stolen property. .. Joseph Sapp, 45, of Lincolnton, charged with simple battery and interference with a 911 call. .. Steven Coppin, 40, of Lincolnton, charged with driving with a suspended/ revoked license, obstructing law enforcement officers, and fleeing and attempting to elude police. In other items of information, Chief Justice reported the incidents below: .. Jesse Zellars reported that an unknown person(s) punctured the left rear tire of his 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe while it was parked at a residence on Joan Way. The tire was valued at $700. .. Larry Rice reported that an unknown person(s) forced open the door to a storage facility that he leases on Elm Street. Nothing was found missing from the building. Approximately $150 in damage was done to the door. .. Prelo Mickens reported that while he was cutting grass on the practice field at LCHS, an unknown person(s) stole his two-way Kenwood radio, which he had placed near the back door of the weight room. The item, which belonged to the Lincoln County Board of Education, was valued at $450. .. Sharon Bryan reported that an unknown person(s) entered her unlocked vehicle while it was parked at LCES and removed a JVC radio. .. Porsha Ivey, an employee of Golden Pantry, reported that a black individual in a gray mini-van drove away from the store without paying for $44.36 worth of gas. In a separate incident, Ivey told police that an unknown individual pumped $43.22 worth of gas into a black truck and left the premises without paying. The vehicle was last seen traveling east on Highway 378. Chief Justice indicated that all of these incidents are still under investigation. |
